Making Evidence Work is supporting the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) with an active programme of children’s services sector engagement over the autumn, leading up to their publication of practice guidance for the sector in May 2026, and systems guidance in December 2026.
Steph Waddell said: “We are delighted to be working with the YEF to share the latest insights from research into youth violence and contextual safeguarding and seek sector views on what’s really needed from the forthcoming guidance. YEF has commissioned a set of research projects to inform this guidance which are designed to respond to the real and difficult questions that local safeguarding partners are grappling with – taking a look at Multi-Agency Child Exploitation panels and Local Children’s Safeguarding Partnership responses to child criminal exploitation and extra-familial harm, as well as how the care system can protect children from involvement in violence, and the availability of parenting support and family therapy.”
