Making Evidence Work is pleased to formally endorse Nesta’s high level blueprint for transforming family support in England, ‘Towards A New Era of Integration in the Early Years’. Built over a 10 month period around evidence from experts by experience, experts by profession and written evidence covering policy, practice and science, A New Era offers a powerful vision for the future of integrated family support.
Ben Lewing, Director at Making Evidence Work, spoke at the launch of the Nesta report, commenting that “A New Era shows us that there is a pretty resilient consensus about what an effective support system for babies, children, young people and families should look like, and how we might organise services to enable this.
The new Best Start strategy talks of “first steps in a decade of renewal … laying the foundations for further reform.” A New Era helps us to understand the journey from where we are now to the ‘better support for families’ that the strategy seeks.
This is not a quick fix, but it is a mandate to work together for a decade on better support, learning as we go, collaborating and celebrating the progress that we make.”
